I see something amazing in people.

Everyone is so beautiful to me and I passionately enjoy capturing this beauty with my lens or enhancing it with my makeup brush. I love finding the real you, with your beautiful warts and all. There is something so very powerful to me about a genuine crack-up, a meaningful look or expressions of love – moments that ought to be gathered and treasured forever.

As an artist, my creativity crosses many borders and often makes what I do have an edge of quirkiness, emotion and uniqueness – photography, art, music and craft are a big part of my life and bring a sense of peace that only creativity can bring to the creatively inclined. My enjoyment of art also crosses over into the makeup-art realm where I have worked as a makeup artist on films since I was seventeen.

I am a young mother of two beautiful children with Rigid Spine Muscular Dystrophy. They have changed and deepened my life in ways that I could never have imagined. Through their inspiration and the beauty they bring to my life, I have become a much better artist and a more real person.

When we meet, show up with the real you.  I can’t wait to meet you.  Whether it is a family, wedding or fashion shoot – I want you to feel comfortable and be you.

I like to spend a few moments getting to know you before whipping out my camera and I am warning you:  I will often ask you to do funny things to help create the moment and get the magic happening.  Just go with it and trust me.  Sometimes I will snap away for a while before the magic moments begin.  Relax, enjoy, have fun.  That makes the best images.

I am not a big lover of family photos with matching denim shirts sitting on haystacks, unless that is really you – then I love it!  I just like to capture sincere, happy images that portray who you really are.

My makeup skills are quite diverse, including sfx and wig application.  I am a perfectionist and very professional, which is essential when working on a film or photo-shoot set.  Because of my photographic background, my knowledge of makeup in different lighting is an asset.  I love the whole creative process of making a film – a band of creative souls coming together to create something pretty awesome.  We all have our set tasks and when brought together, something fantastic is created.  I find the process extremely satisfying.

My art style for children has been described as cute, clean, fun, professional and very unique.  I like to think my children’s art is yummy enough to eat.  I love using vibrant colors and textures on adorable characters with big sparkling eyes.

Another type of art that I love doing is coloring drawings by children.  Children have the most unique way of drawing with the most gorgeous proportions.  When colored, these drawings take on a life that is out of this world amazing and so unique.  I can paint or color images emailed to me or I can sit with your child and have him or her draw a family portrait that I will then go away and paint.  I love this kind of family portrait better than a photograph.  It is so special to have in the home.  I can do the art in whatever color scheme you like.

I also do a lot of educational drawings (usually while watching Star Trek in the background), which is really fun for me (and my son now loves Star Trek as a result).
