Bless his cotton little socks. Sure, I may have hinted that if superman was holding an American flag, the American mummy PTA judges may think him even more beautiful, but look at this gorgeous picture! We’re talking dramatic composition, lighting, sunset, wind blown cape – MUSCLES!!! I just love it!! I love it so much! My little eight year old is so big and grown up and so clever; brings a tear…
Thought I would share :D

so adorable!! What a great little artist!
that’s great! so talented!
That is a really great entry Jaz. A few years ago I was the county secondary reflections chair and so I’ve seen a lot of entries. Isis’ is really wonderful!
Hi Jaz. Haven’t heard from you in a while, I hope everything is okay! xxx
Oh the patriotism! Such a sweet picturesque moment of one Americas greatest hero’s, holding such a splendid symbol of the one and only free country in the world. I love the stars and stripes and I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful setting to showcase all its hopeful, joyous, and loving messages. God bless you and your little son. It brings a tear to my eye to imaging superman watching over our troops in middle east, protecting them, as they are so truly protecting our Freedom, and precious rights, like the right to have guns, and more guns. You are truly a servant of God, and should be applauded for your efforts to bring the truth of America to all the world.
Oh the cheekiness of that comment… (You know some people might not get the humor in that ;)
(Or that you were kidding…)
I can just hear the Star Spangled Banner playing in the background as I read Nick’s patriotic response there…. (dramatic pause and sigh)
I love the picture… I have seen a lot of my students entries and they are in 5th grade… He is amazing, and I am not biased…
Love you all xx
Jasmine–I too have a little one–nine–so I understand loving what our children create.
However, I do have an issue with artistic originality, which is part of Reflections.
Although your son has done a lovely job with his superman drawing, he did more than be inspired by the original Alex Ross drawing. He copied the composition of another artist–the only additional element that I see is the sun. Think of it this way: how would you feel if another child copied your child’s artwork? Who has the original piece? I’m sure you would feel that your child did? And I would agree with you.
Without a doubt your child has skillful hands and a good eye. He has great fine-motor skills and a sensitivity for line and pictorial details. I’d love to see a composition by him that came out of his imagination. I’m sure it would be great.
First Place Baby!
Woot Woot!!!
